How Does Your Gourd Glow?

Last night I hosted a small dinner party and needed a simple centerpiece. The table was tight (and full of place settings) so I threw some sunflowers in a short, square vase and surrounded it with acorns. Rather than just put out tealight candles on their own, I thought I'd use set some gourds a-glow. For this pumpkin project, start with two small white gourds (they'll cost you less than a dollar), a pack of tealights (one dollar at Target), and a carving knife. Dig out the stem and scoop out the insides of the pumpkins in a circular shape slightly smaller than the candle. Then gently force the candle into the opening, so the top of the tealight is flush with the top of the pumpkin. There you have a quick craft for the season.

  1. Thanks, Patty! It was super easy but added a nice glow to our dinner table.
